Frost guard

With a temperature sensor, or the current temperature from a weather.* entity if there's no dedicated sensor: a due cycle waits while it's below 2 °C (adjustable), re-checks every hour for a few hours, and only then waits for the next day. Set the threshold to its lowest value to switch frost guard off.

Pause

Each zone has a Pause switch: no watering, scheduled or "water now", until it's switched back off. Set Paused Until instead and Pause switches itself off then — for winter, a holiday, or a repair.

Safety watchdogs and service runs keep working while paused, and the paused weeks don't count as "overdue" once you resume.
